Amazing Pictures...

The amazing picture below was taken from one of the space shuttle missions. It shows Europe emerging from night into day. The right hand side of the picture shows parts of Europe and nearly all of Africa in darkness, with city lights clearly visible. The left side of the picture shows France, the UK and parts of Spain in full sunshine. What is also quite breathtaking, is that you can also see the Sahara Desert running the full width of Africa, and at the same time, snow covering most of the Nordic countries.

When I first saw this picture it reminded me of just how small we really are.
